Nollaig Do Chách: Christmas Rap

18 Dec 2025

The rap video “Nollaig do Chách,” written by 5th and 6th class pupils at Gaelscoil Pheig Sayers, is attracting attention on social media as an inspiring Irish-language song for the holiday season.

“Nollaig do Chách” emphasises the joy and togetherness of Christmas, encouraging audiences to celebrate, share music, and build community together.

“Éístigí gach duine scaipeadh an grá, stopaigí ag troid, ba mhaith linn síocháin, spreag an dóchas i ngach aon áit!”

Using the Irish language in an engaging and enjoyable music video, listeners, especially students and young people, are encouraged to see the language as part of a living cultural experience.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the entire process, from writing the song lyrics to recording the video. Sincere thanks go to the teachers and principal of Gaelscoil Pheig Sayers, to GMC Beats and Sugradh Teo Productions from Kabin Studio, and to the Barr na gCnoc team. The song and associated learning resources have been published by TG4 Foghlaim.
