University College Cork has been highly successful in putting the fruits of our green research and teaching into practice and have recieved a large number of national and international awards for the sustainable and environmentally-friendly approach to our activities.
Sustaining Excellence, UCC's strategic plan for 2013-2017 clearly outlines our commitment to the environment and a strategy to "further enhance UCC's reputation as Ireland's 'Green University'".
This will be achieved by a range of activities including improving sustainable access to the campus (walking, cycling, public transport, etc.); a commitment to achieve a 33% energy reduction by 2020; and a target recycling rate of 70% by 2017.
Central to putting our green agenda into practice is the Buildings and Estates office led by Mark Poland. Relevant information from the Buildings and Estates office is available from the links below.
