Campus Accommodation – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Please note our office does not manage or control the UCC Campus Accommodation Lottery, as this is managed by Campus Accommodation directly.

1. How many Campus Accommodation complexes are available?

There are six purpose-built student apartment complexes operated by UCC Campus Accommodation, all within walking distance of the main campus.

2. Is the Campus Accommodation Lottery still open for 2025/26?

No, the application window for 2025/26 is now closed. Campus Accommodation manages applications through a lottery-based system, which runs from March to April each year.

For full details, please visit the Campus Accommodation website.

3. Does the Accommodation & Community Life Office manage the Campus Accommodation Lottery?

No, our office does not manage or control the Campus Accommodation Lottery. This process is administered independently by Campus Accommodation.

4. What should I do if I have an issue with my Campus Accommodation application?

If you are experiencing any issues with your application, we strongly recommend contacting the relevant Campus Accommodation complex directly via phone call to resolve your query. You can find their contact details on the Campus Accommodation website.

5. Can I still apply for Campus Accommodation or join a waiting list?

Unfortunately, once the application window closes, it is not possible to apply or join a waiting list.

  • The first round of offers is issued in early April.
  • Further offers may be issued later in the year, depending on cancellations. Please note there are no set-dates for further draws of the lottery, these are cancellation dependant. We tend to see a wave of cancellations around CAO offers.

6. What are the payment requirements for successful applicants?

If you are offered a place, you must:

  • Pay a €300 deposit to secure your booking.
  • You will receive correspondence over the Summer, with details as to payment options (installments, bulk sums, etc), once costs are finalised by Campus Accommodation
  • Please note utilities are a seperate charge to rent, of €650

7. What if I was unsuccessful in the lottery? What other accommodation options are available?

If you were unsuccessful in securing Campus Accommodation, we strongly encourage you to explore alternative accommodation options, such as:

  • Private student apartment complexes
  • Shared private rentals
  • Digs (owner-occupied accommodation)
  • Short-term accommodation providers

For a list of available options, please visit our Alternative Accommodation Guide.

8. Who can I contact for further support?

If you need additional guidance on finding accommodation, please contact the Accommodation & Community Life Office at resservices@ucc.ie. While we do not manage the Campus Accommodation Lottery, we are happy to assist you in exploring alternative housing options.
