When Is HEAR Connection Day?

The HEAR Connection Day (formerly the HEAR Orientation event) will take place on Friday 13th September from 10 am to 4 pm. It is a mandatory, in-person event, taking place on Campus. Exact details to follow via email to all eligible students when CAO offers are made. If you cannot attend or have further queries please email hear@ucc.ie .

What Is HEAR Connection Day?

All incoming PLUS programme first-year students will need to attend the HEAR Connection Day (formerly called the HEAR Orientation)  at University College Cork.

At the HEAR Connection Day, you will be provided with a solid understanding of the support you will receive for the duration of your degree and cover all aspects of becoming a UCC student. If you have further queries relating to the HEAR Connection Day please email uccplus@ucc.ie.

This information page is for HEAR Scheme Students only.

The PLUS Programme looks after HEAR Scheme entrants to UCC.

All other first-year students coming to the university should check out the main University Orientation webpage for important information and dates. The Admissions Office organises this webpage with everything you need to know for your first year orientation.

What Is the PLUS Programme?

HEAR eligible students become ACCESS UCC, PLUS Programme students when they join UCC in their first year.

The PLUS Programme provides a vast range of academic, financial and social support, enabling HEAR Scheme students to participate fully in student life and reach their full potential.

What do I need to do before the HEAR Connection Day?

You will receive an email from the PLUS programme/hear@ucc.ie  after your CAO offer; follow the instructions to confirm your attendance at the HEAR Connection Day.

What Is the Difference Between HEAR Connection Day and Main College Orientation?

At the HEAR Connection Day (formerly HEAR Orientation), you will be provided with a solid understanding of the support you will receive for the duration of your degree from the PLUS Programme and allow you an opportunity to ask any questions specific to the HEAR Scheme.

Main College orientation is designed to welcome you to UCC and introduce you to university life. This is the day you will also collect your Student ID Card. Please follow this link for the exact dates related to your course.

Both the HEAR Connection Day and Main UCC 1st year Orientation day are compulsory and are an essential part of your journey to becoming a UCC student.
