18 Apr 2023We are thrilled to host Day 1 of the Easter School 2023 at the University College Cork (UCC) today! Over 110 Transition Year DEIS students are getting the opportunity to experience a natural college environment.
We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all the departments and initiatives involved in making this day happen, including UccSkills, CACSSS1, SEFSUCC, UCCMedHealth, CBLUCC, UCCVisit, NAT_UCC, and the European University Initiative UNIC.
It's going to be a great day filled with learning and exploration. We hope to inspire these students to pursue their academic and personal goals fearlessly.

My Dyslexia and Me
04 Apr 2023Disability Support is delighted to host Miss Ireland and former UCC student Ivanna McMahon.
Ivanna will speak to students about her own experience with dyslexia in school and University. She will discuss what Dyslexia is, its misconceptions, its benefits, and dyslexia and self-esteem. Ivanna is a UCC medicine alumni who graduated in 2020. She won Miss Ireland in 2022 and is an ambassador with the Dyslexia Association.
No booking is necessary, but within health and safety guidelines, spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Inclusive UCC Symposium
19 May 2022The Symposium will spotlight the value of creating inclusive digital experiences for all. The day will also celebrate the excellent work happening within UCC to support inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment experiences. The day will feature international keynote speakers, staff panels and the student experience.
The day will also celebrate the excellent work happening within UCC to support inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment experiences. The 19th of May was selected to coincide with International Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), and GAAD aims to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital Inclusion and accessibility.
The theme for this Symposium is Creating Inclusive Assessment and Digital Experiences.

Inspiring as 19 Traveller women graduate from pioneering university course that they say will ‘change lives’
14 Apr 2022Women from the Traveller community have hailed a specially-designed university course as "life changing" as they graduated today.
The 19 women – drawn from Traveller families across the south – completed the Community Leadership programme at University College Cork (UCC) which was devised by the university, the Southern Traveller Health Network and Adult Continuing Education.
All 19 graduated from the course – and acknowledged that it will change lives.
