Orienteering is an international sport that combines running (or walking!) with navigation. It is a timed race in which participants use a specially created map to select routes and navigate through diverse terrains and visit checkpoints in sequence. Whoever gets the fastest time wins!
Our events cater for all fitness levels, you can run, jog or walk the course at your own pace. We very much welcome beginners to our events and will always be happy to show you the ropes. We hold events around UCC throughout the year and will occasionally travel to orienteering events around the country. If you like exploring new places, getting off the beaten track, enjoy looking at maps or simply want to add variety to a run or walk then orienteering could be for you.
