UCC is served by public transport by two City Bus routes (No 205 and No 208), connecting the campus to Cork City Centre via Washington and St Patrick Streets. Bus stops are located on College Road / O’Donovan’s Road (Route No 205) and Western Road (Route No 208).

City Bus routes serving UCC (see Map of City Bus Routes below): 

No 205: Rossa Avenue C.I.T. – UCC (College Road) – Dyke Parade - Washington Street - St. Patrick Street – Parnell Place Bus Station / MacCurtain St – Kent Train Station (every 15 mins)

No 208: Curraheen (Marymount Hospice) – Bishopstown – City Centre (St. Patrick Street) – Mayfield – Ashmount – Lotabeg (every 10 mins during day time)

Route No 216 buses serve Bandon Road at close walking distance to the Main Campus (O’Rahilly Building entrance).

Route No 219 buses (Southern Orbital) provide a link from Mahon / Douglas as far as the Lough (10 min walk to UCC) and further to Wilton and Bishopstown.

Local and Express services towards the West (e.g. Ballincollig, Macroom, Bandon, West  Cork) stop on request on Western Road / Gaol Cross (inbound: for set down only; outbound: for pick up only).

Single tickets for city buses are available from the drivers (€2.20 or €1.61 with LeapCard). There are also weekly and monthly tickets available. Bus Eireann Tickets can also be purchased at An Stad shop in the Students’ Centre or online at Bus Eireann's Homepage.

Tax Saver Travel Passes for staff are offered per calendar year. Applications are due in early November.

During Term, there is a number of special Weekend services on Fridays and Sundays operating directly from/to UCC (Western Star) to facilitate students getting home for the weekend. These are private services to UCC students operated by Bus Eireann and other companies.

Information on timetables forthcoming

During Term, there is a night bus organised by UCC Students' Union starting from Washington Street (outside Four Star Pizza) towards UCC, Victoria Cross and Bishopstown. Buses operate on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
