Laochra: a fantastic collaboration between Barr na gCnoc and Kabin Studio

Another brand-new rap and music video has been created by the students of the Kabin Studio and Barr na gCnoc.
. Laochra was first written at the Kabin’s inaugural Gael-Rap Camp in July 2024 and was given a new lease of life in March 2026 to celebrate the festivities of Seachtain na Gaeilge.
With Heidi, Sophia and Aaron as the main performers, the students focused on the importance of Gaeilge in everyday life, sharing the inspiration that comes from rapping in their national language and how you can also become a hero in doing so.
The project continues the Kabin Studio’s tradition of using hip-hop as a creative tool to empower young people and celebrate the Irish language. The song and associated learning resources have been published by Foghlaim TG4 | Meánleibhéal | Amhráin | Laochra | FO for Seachtain na Gaeilge.
