Surgeon Noonan’s achievements honoured by UCC
A celebration in the Aula Maxima in early October marked the success of this year’s UCC Surgeon Noonan Society team who raised more than €250,000 for medical aid initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa. Through a variety of student-led initiatives including coffee mornings, live music events, pub quizzes and bucket collections, these remarkable students raised vital funding that will support health infrastructure such as maternity wards and HIV clinics, as well as essential supplies including antibiotics and sterile equipment.

UCC fourth in global sustainability rankings
UCC placed fourth in the world in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings announced in September. UCC is Ireland's top university in these prestigious rankings, placing inside the top ten for ten consecutive years. We have also been recognised as the Most Active University in the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings Network in Northern Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

UCC welcomes Minister Christopher O'Sullivan
Today, UCC President, Professor John O'Halloran, welcomed Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage with special responsibility for Nature, Heritage & Biodiversity to campus. The Minister was accompanied by Michael MacDonagh, Chief Archaeologist, Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage and Assistant Secretary Niall O’Donnchu, Department of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht.
