Capitation Fee 2027/28
What is the capitation fee?
The capitation fee is an annual charge paid by students towards services while at University College Cork.
How much is it?
The Capitation Fee for the 2027-2028 academic year is outlined in the following table:

What is it for?
The Capitation Fee covers a membership fee for members the Mardyke Arena and the development of sports facilities, Student Mental Health Services, Student Common Rooms, Student Media, and an affiliation fee with the Union of Students in Ireland.
Membership of the Mardyke Arena grants students access to gym and pool facilities. Student Mental Health Services include Student Counselling & Development, and Crisis Supports.
UCC’s Student Common Rooms provide open plan areas with sofas, televisions with gaming consoles, and a kitchen with tea/coffee making facilities and a microwave.
UCC Student Media includes UCC 98.3FM radio, and the UCC Express news outlet.
When is it paid?
The Capitation Fee is paid upon registration at the beginning of the academic year.

Will this be covered by my grant?
The Capitation Fees is not covered by the Higher Education Grant Scheme (SUSI).
The fees element of SUSI grants covers all or part of tuition fees and the student contribution, but not the Capitation Fee.
