Canvas
We use Canvas as our main communication platform. Once you are registered, you’ll receive an invitation to join the Peer Support module. You will automatically be added to the module that corresponds to your course, where your Peer Support Leaders will be available to support you, share updates, and answer any questions you may have.
Bios
Peer Support Leaders are automatically assigned to new students but we know that sometimes you may want to connect with someone who has specific experience or a particular skillset. Through our Peer Support Bios, you can browse all of our volunteers and reach out directly to anyone you feel most comfortable talking to.
You are never tied to the Peer Support Leader you were initially assigned. You’re free to choose the person who feels like the best fit for you.

Peer Support Leaders are trained students who volunteer their time to support you. They understand what it’s like to navigate university life and are here to offer relatable, compassionate guidance.

You’ll be automatically assigned a Peer Support Leader based on your course and they’ll reach out to you through Canvas. You can reply directly or contact them through the Peer Support module.

Yes. While you’re automatically assigned someone, you’re not tied to that person. You can browse the Peer Support Bios and directly contact any Peer Support Leader who feels like a better fit for you.
5. What can I talk to a Peer Support Leader about?
Almost anything that affects your university experience — settling in, finding support services, managing challenges, making friends, homesickness or general wellbeing. We do not get too involved in academic issues but can advise and signpost. They’re here to listen and guide, not to judge.

Applications open once a year in March/April. Training is provided and students from all backgrounds and courses are encouraged to apply. Keep an eye on Canvas and official UCC channels for announcements.
