Our mission is to empower students by providing safe, confidential and compassionate peertopeer support that promotes wellbeing, belonging and personal growth. We strive to build a caring, inclusive campus community where every student feels heard, understood and connected. By fostering empathy, resilience and genuine studentled connection, we ensure that every student has someone they can turn to… always.
Vision Statement
Our vision is a university community where every student feels supported, connected and empowered to thrive. We aim to cultivate an environment in which peer compassion, inclusion and understanding are woven into everyday campus life. Our goal is to ensure no student ever feels alone as they navigate their academic, social and/or personal journey.

Confidentiality Statement
Peer Support provides a safe, private space for students to talk openly about their experiences. Conversations with Peer Support Leaders are kept confidential and will not be shared outside the service.
Information is only shared if:
- there is a risk of harm to you or someone else,
- there is a legal or safeguarding obligation to disclose, or
- you give clear permission for us to do so.
We will always aim to explain any necessary steps and involve you as much as possible. Your trust matters and we are committed to protecting it.
Meet the Coordinator
Damian Butler coordinates UCC’s Peer Support Programme, working alongside our Peer Support Leaders to create a warm, supportive and inclusive environment for all students. Damian oversees training, wellbeing standards and programme development, ensuring that students receive safe, compassionate and highquality support. Passionate about student wellbeing and community building, he is dedicated to helping students feel connected, empowered and confident throughout their university journey.
