Conferring dates
Spring Conferrings for 2023 will take place on the following dates:
Monday, 27 March (College of Business and Law)
Tuesday, 28 March (College of Science, Engineering and Food Science and Adult Continuing Education)
Wednesday, 29 March (College of Medicine and Health and Adult Continuing Education)
Thursday, 30 March (College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences)
All eligible students will receive a detailed invitation with all the information that you require, regarding ceremony times, locations, gowning, photography, etc.

Degree parchments will be distributed by the President on the day of your ceremony.
Graduates who cannot attend on the day will be conferred 'in abstentia'.
Your parchment will be sent via post to the permanent home address on your file. You must include your Eircode, postcode or ZIP code and your mobile telephone number (including country code). Please ensure we hold the correct address for you via your student admin portal by your ceremony date.
NOTICE OF ESSENTIAL SYSTEM MAINTAINENCE: The student admin portal will be unavailable due to systems updates from Tuesday 7 Feb to Monday 13 Feb.
Your eligibility
For Spring 2023 Conferrings, taking place from the 27 to 30 March 2023. You must pay all outstanding fees in full and fulfill all academic requirements to be eligible to graduate.
Invitations will be sent to all eligible students.
Preparing for the day
The Hub building on campus will be open for check in, gown collection, and photography 2 hours ahead of your ceremony. You are advised to arrive early and give yourself plenty of time for the pre-ceremony arrangements.
There are a few more practicalities to consider below ahead of your ceremony.
The conferring ceremony will take place in the Devere Hall on UCC’s main campus and will take approximately 45 minutes. You must attend Devere Hall at least 30 minutes before the ceremony commences for your roll call. The doors open for guest seating 40 minutes ahead of the ceremony. During your ceremony, you will be seated with your cohort in alphabetical order. The President will address you and the Head of College will call your name as part of the roll call.
Photography
Lafayette Photographers will be located on campus, in the student hub, throughout the Spring Conferrings 2023 to take professional individual and family portraits. Please visit their website www.lafayette.ie to pre-book now. Pre-booking is highly recommended for your photography session.
Watch live
Your ceremony will also be broacast live to our website. We encourage you to share this link with family and friends prior to the event. A special message wall will be live during the ceremony for people to wish you and your classmates well.
McGinley Academic Robe Hire will be based in the Dora Alman room on the fourth floor of The Student Hub in UCC to facilitate the collection and return of hired academicals
You are entitled to bring two guests to your ceremony. Please collect your tickets at the check in desk outside the Hub building on campus prior to your ceremony.
