The archives themselves are very broad ranging with all the main series of records extant from 1849 onwards.
These include formal records of the college such as:
- Minutes of the College Council, Governing Body
- Student registers
- College charters
- College Statutes
- Faculty Minutes
- Committee Minutes
- QCC/UCC Letter Books and Correspondence (1845-1920)
- Title deeds for University premises
- Photographs, plans, drawings and media containing information about the development of the University.
There are also collections of administrative records from departments and the offices of the college, such as the President’s Office with records relating to staff and development of curriculum etc., the Registrar’s office relating to the day-to-day business of educating students, and the Secretary’s Office which – among other subjects - details the administration of buildings and college property.
In addition, collections include records from the various student societies and clubs that were set up in the college for extracurricular activities. These records range from minutes books, to accounts, lists of members and photographs.
The University Archives receives records and private papers of individual persons closely associated with University College Cork. If you have such records, you are welcome to contact us.
