EYHL2 – Division 1 Women
Last weekend saw the first defeat of the season for the Division 1 women as they travelled to Dublin to take on Monkstown in the EYHL2 League. After a dominant 6–1 victory over Lisnagarvey and a strong win against Belfast Harlequins, UCC were hoping to extend their run of form.

Last Wednesday 4th February, UCC Hockey gathered in style at the Rochestown Park Hotel for our Annual UCC Hockey Ball — an evening celebrating community, hard work, and outstanding performances across every squad. It was a brilliant night recognising the players and members who consistently raise standards on and off the pitch.

EYHL2
Last weekend marked the start of the EYHL2 league as UCC welcomed Belfast Harlequins to the Mardyke. The students made an impressive statement in their opening fixture, powering to victory with goals from Emma O’Sullivan (2), Jenny McLaughlin, and a well‑taken penalty stroke from captain Lauren Cripps.
This Saturday they face another northern opponent, Lisnagarvey, who make their debut at this level. UCC will be looking to build on their strong start and continue gathering early‑season momentum.
Division 1 Women – Munster League
Last Thursday, the Division 1 Women continued their strong league form with an impressive 4–0 victory over Bandon in the Munster Division 1 League.
As part of preparations for the upcoming EYHL2 campaign, which begins next Saturday, the team also faced EYHL1 side Catholic Institute in a high‑intensity friendly over the weekend. The match proved excellent preparation for the speed and physicality expected in the league, with UCC edging a tough contest 3–2.

Division 1 – Munster Senior Cup (First Round)
UCC 5–0 Waterford
A frosty start at the Mardyke caused a short delay, but once underway, UCC’s Division 1 side delivered a confident and clinical opening round performance in the Munster Senior Cup.

The women’s 1sts closed out 2025 in style with a dominant 5–1 win over Harlequins in their last Munster league game before the Christmas break. They now look forward to the start of their EYHL2 campaign, kicking off at home against Belfast Harlequins on Saturday, 31st January at 1:00 pm. Unfortunately, they will be without Robyn Murphy for the rest of the season as she heads abroad on placement. Both Robyn Murphy and Eabha Curran did UCC Hockey proud when they represented Ireland at the Junior World Cup in Chile before Christmas.

It was a busy and successful weekend for U.C.C. teams across all divisions:
Congratulations to Robyn Murphy and Eabha Curran, honoured Tuesday night at the Pavilion alongside Club Captains Niamh Casey and Callum Griffin and their team mates from the women's 1sts team. Both fly out Sunday, 23rd November, to represent Ireland at the Junior Women’s World Cup in Chile!

We are thrilled to announce that Eabha Curran and Robyn Murphy have been selected for the U21 World Cup squad, which takes place in Chile this December. This is a fantastic achievement for both players and a proud moment for UCC Hockey. Last Weekend Recap
Only one of our teams was in action last weekend, with the Men’s team taking to the pitch in a thrilling encounter against Ashton. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Kyran Bryan finding the back of the net for UCC. Despite several strong goal-scoring opportunities, the team was unlucky not to come away with the win. The performance, however, was full of promise and gives great hope for the season ahead.

WE ARE BACK ! It's always an exciting time at the start of the season. This year is special as our Womens 1st are in the top tier EY1 and the Men’s team are being resurrected after a dormant 2023/24 season.

Last week UCC hosted 2 games, Ireland U21 v France U21 in a 3 match friendly series. The Irish squad had 4 players from UCC, Julia McCarthy, Jenny McLaughlin, Lauren Cripps and Robyn Murphy competing. All 4 players are vying for places on the squad going to Terassa in Spain to play in the U21 European Championships in July.

The Division 3 side were on the road to Tipperary and the only game of the weekend for the students over the Easter break. This was the teams second last game of the league and a win would keep them on track for a play off and potential promotion to Division 2. Goals came from Claire Jermyn (2) and Marianna Gallagher and secured another 3 points for the UCC side (see league table).

Last Thursday the W1sts played their rescheduled EYHL2 game against NUIG at the Mardyke. The original game played on the 9th March was abandoned after 5 minutes when an NUIG player fell to the ground after a head injury. She thankfully has made a good recovery.
