Hockey Ireland U21 France Series

Last week UCC hosted 2 games, Ireland U21 v France U21 in a 3 match friendly series. The Irish squad had 4 players from UCC, Julia McCarthy, Jenny McLaughlin, Lauren Cripps and Robyn Murphy competing. All 4 players are vying for places on the squad going to Terassa in Spain to play in the U21 European Championships in July.
The teams stayed in nearby UCC accommodation Victoria Lodge, and with a 10 minute walk from the Mardyke it was an ideal set up for the series. Ireland won all 3 games, 2-0, 4-2 and 4-2 with the final game taking place at local school Mount Mercy. Lauren, Robyn and Julia all scored over the 3 matches.

UCC Hockey hope to run a girls camp in August focussing on girls going into first year. The camp welcomes girls who may be new to the game as well as those who are seasoned players. Dates and other information will be shared on social media.
