The women's 1sts travelled to the North to play Ulster side, Ards, in their first game of the EYHL2. The students side got off to a great start scoring in the 4th minute from a corner through Jane Murphy. The team played a fast, aggressive game and were the better of the two sides throughout. Ards scored to equalise at the end of the first quarter. The College side had more opportunities to score but didn't score again until the 3rd quarter with another goal from Jane Murphy. Some questionable umpiring decisions made the task hard at times but UCC hung tough and came away with a deserved 2-1 win. The team prepare for their next EYHL2  game against Leinster side Muckross next Saturday in the Mardyke. Tip off 2pm

 

The Division 3 side made their return to Munster League hockey after the Christmas break to play Ashton away. The side failed to capitalise on majority possession and came away with a 1-1 draw, goal scored by Jill Roberts.

 

The Division 5 side were away to Cork Harlequins. It was the battle of the elements in Harlequin Park with Storm Isha playing its part. The student side were a bit rusty after the Christmas break and with the weather conditions did well to come away with a 3-1 win, with goals from Trudy O Loughlin (2) and Poppy McKeown.

 

The Division 2 game was postponed due to the Orange weather warning on Sunday.
