Examination Leave
Examination Leave
INTRODUCTION
- The University provides paid Examination Leave for staff members undertaking approved courses of study, provided examinations take place during working hours.
ENTITLEMENT
- All staff undertaking relevant courses of study have an entitlement to Examination Leave, provided the examination takes place during working hours, but only for the duration of the examination.
GUIDELINES
- Normally, entitlement to Examination Leave will apply only where courses have been pre-approved by the Head of Department as being of relevance to the work of the department.
PROCEDURES
- Application for Examination Leave is made by completing a Special Leave Application Form, which has to be approved by the Head of Department and forwarded to the Department of Human Resources. An official examination timetable must be forwarded with every application for Examination Leave.
