Story Skills I - Why story? Why now? (2.5 hours)
Framed around these two core questions, the Science & Art of Storytelling will be examined. How do stories work and what makes stories the most powerful way to connect with another human being? By deconstructing stories, Narativ (our facilitators) will teach their key, practical story skills, helping us to uncover, shape and tell memorable stories.
Story Skills II - Applied Storytelling to Influence and Inspire (2.5 hours)
Women’s ability to effectively influence is a key aspect of us having agency and impact in the workplace. So where does Storytelling fit as a key component of influencing and how can it be used in conjunction with other ‘influencing styles’?
Building on the connection between Story Structure and Meaning, Narativ will consider the application of storytelling in our day to day work, starting with a consideration of our audiences and what they need. We will explore how we can use our stories to challenge gender biases and assumptions in the workplace, amplifying our voices and viewpoints.
Story Skills III - Creating Presence with Storytelling (2.5 hours)
This session will focus on the ‘how’ of storytelling. We will explore the interplay between mindset, body and voice, examining the impact our limiting beliefs can have on our behaviours and personal presence. What happens when we find ourselves in pressured situations, or our authority is challenged? This is a space to practise physical techniques, to learn tips, tricks and tools to maximise impact and create an authentic and compelling Leadership style.
By the end of this 3 part-programme, participants will have:
• Strengthened listening skills & identified limiting thoughts and behaviours
• Discovered the importance of considering different audiences
• Explored a number of stories from their experience and worked on several in depth
• Learnt the tools to excavate, shape and tell impactful stories
• Embodied Storytelling as a tool of Influencing
• Learned physical tools and techniques to build confidence and enhance personal presence
• Considered the application of all these tools in their day-to-day work
NB: You must be available to attend all 3 online workshops.
