Innovation Showcase
The inaugural College of Science, Engineering and Food Science, and College of Medicine and Health Innovation Showcase at UCC celebrated the remarkable achievements in innovation within both colleges.
The event highlighted the contributions of researchers across various disciplines, emphasising the transformative potential of their work.
The participants showcased groundbreaking ideas that spanned diverse fields. From cutting-edge scientific solutions to life-changing medical breakthroughs, these innovations are shaping our world.
Researchers took the stage to share their progress, vision, and journey from lab to impact:
- Dr Kieran Mulchrone - Licence to industry from Maths and Medicine
- Dr Julie O'Sullivan - SkinCoat: Research to Commercialisation Journey
- Dr Ann-Marie Brennan - Making Clinical Research Matter
- Dr Eric Moore - Spin-Out Journey: CLISTEPROBE
- Clare Meskill - Start-Up Journey: Telea
These innovations have real-world implications. Whether through improving patients’ lives or addressing global challenges, it is clear that UCC's research is making a difference.
The event also marked the extension of the Digital Badge in Innovation and IP for Scientists and Engineers to staff in the College of Medicine and Health, as well as healthcare professionals.
This showcase not only celebrated current achievements but also set the stage for future breakthroughs that will continue to shape the landscape of science, medicine, and health.
