Rossa Mullin. CEO, Film in Cork. Tuesday 12 April, 6.00 pm. FSM Auditorium, Windle Building.
UCC's Film & Screen Media welcomes Rossa Mullin to present a talk on Tuesday 12 April, 6.00 pm. Film and Screen Media Auditorium, Windle Building.
Cork born and raised, Rossa has been involved with filmmaking since he wrote and directed his first short in the Galway Film Centre in 2001. Through initial success with writer-only development funding from the Irish Film Board in 2002, he decided to move into producing in 2007 and to this end established Pooleen Productions in Cork. In 2010, RTE selected two Pooleen documentaries (Artaud on Aran and Words Into Silence) to screen as part of their New Director’s series. Pooleen has secured funding from the Irish Film Board, RTE, The Arts Council, Cork Film Centre, and a variety of local government arts departments. Rossa has also produced the first-ever Irish Film Board-funded feature film made entirely in Cork, Shem The Penman Sings Again, directed by Padraig Trehy and screened at the Cork Film Festival. Rossa was appointed CEO of Film in Cork (formerly the Cork Screen Commission) in 2015.
