Mapping Music Education Provision in County Cork
Mapping of Music Education Provision for Children and Young People in County Cork.
Mapping Music Education Provision for Children and Young People in Cork
, is an important piece of research being completed by the Department of Music, UCC with Cork ETB and Music Generation National Programme.
The research aims to assess the feasibility of a Music Education Partnership in County Cork and to assess how a model of performance music education for children and young people can be implemented with consideration of the current infrastructure of music education throughout the County.
We are hoping to have as many voices contribute to this research to ensure we can adequately map current provision of music education in County Cork and to identify gaps in provision for children and young people.
Have your say:
Through qualitative research methods with children, young people, parents, and adults involved in music education provision, the study will provide insight into current music experiences of children in Cork and will identify gaps in provision of and access to music education for children and young people.
This research is being carried out by
Dr Jack Talty and
Dr Michelle Finnerty. It is funded by
County Cork ETB and takes place in partnership with
Music Generation Ireland.
