New Computing Server

Computing Server

A new computing server, preliminary codename "Monster", is running now in the research group "Quantum Control via Shortcuts to Adiabaticity" led by Dr. Andreas Ruschhaupt in the Department of Physics.

The computing server is funded by the SFI Frontiers for the Future Project "Shortcut-Enhanced Quantum Thermodynamics", a joint project together with Dr. John Goold in Trinity College Dublin.

The goal of the SFI project is to combine quantum control via shortcuts-to-adiabaticy and quantum thermodynamics to design a new route for future quantum technologies. The task of the computing server will be to simulate complex quantum systems with a computing performance of theoretically up to 34 TFLOPS single precision or 11 TFLOPS double precision.

We are very excited for this new addition to our department!
