Transition Years
Transition Year Week 2023/2024
Physics Transition Year Week 2023/2024 will take place from Monday 12th February to Friday 16th February, 2024.
You may register your interest by contacting us at physics@ucc.ie.
Application closing date Monday 20th of November.
Further details to follow, however, to date the week consisted of students attending the School in a group from 9.00am (9.30am on the Monday) to approx. 5.00pm for the full week Monday to Friday.
A breakdown of the week is as follows:
- attending lectures from physics researchers
- hands-on lab experiments
- tours of research labs and facilities, UCC campus and more
- working in a group to develop your own physics projects
- ... and all your physics questions answered! (Where does gravity come from? Can we simulate the entire universe? Will we ever be able to teleport?)
For any queries regarding this transition year programme, please contact Aileen McCarthy/Nini Schwart (Job-share) at physics@ucc.ie.
