Tyndall Lecture for Schools
2025
UCC Physics are delighted to host the Tyndall lecture for schools again this year. This years speaker is Dr Clara Nellist. Please find out more about Clara here: Dr Clara Nellist – Particle Physicist and Science Communicator.
The aim of the lecture is to let students experience a Physics lecture on campus and hopefully connect their classwork to modern physics.
When: Friday 14th of February
1pm, UCC Campus
1 hour lecture and 10 minutes UCC Physics Introduction (Allow 1.5 hours on campus)
Who: Suitable for TY and Leaving Cert Students. We ask that schools keep groups to around 30 students or less.

The Tyndall Lecture for Schools event is back and will be held in UCC on Thursday 22nd February 2024.
The title of this event is: "Gravitational Waves: Listening to Einstein's Universe" and the lecture will be presented by Professor Martin Hendry of the University of Glasgow.
This IOP annual event is aimed at TY/Senior Cycle Students and brings an opportunity for young people across schools in Ireland to connect their classwork to modern physics.
