UCC Youth Theatre
UCC Youth Theatre take part in Shorts Play Festival
Members of three Cork city based Youth Theatres - Activate Youth Theatre, Mallow based Lightbulb Youth Theatre and UCC Youth Theatre took part in a day of workshops, rehsearsal and performance on Sat 21st April in Graffiti Theatre Company.
The day started with each group haveing a short rehearsal in the Graffiti Theatre followed by a large group workshop led by Alum Julie O'Leary. Then a 'tech' run of the performances with Alum Chris Schmid-Martin and current final year Róisín McCollom on lights. Finally each of the Youth Theatres presented short plays that they had been working on to a peer group of fellow youth theatre members, family and friends.
The short plays ranged from devised to scripted with Activate perfroming 'Bluetooth' by Rachel Thornton, originally written as part of Young Playwrigths in the Abbey Theatre 2017.
