UCC Youth Theatre
UCC Youth Theatre presents 'What Are They Like' by Lucinda Coxon
'Adolescence is a rough ride. You've got existential angst, mood swings, fashion fiascos, terrifying physical changes, never enough money... And that's just the parents. How well do you know yours?
What Are They Like? by Lucinda Coxon was written as part of the 2013 UK National Theatre Connections Youth Theatre Festival exploring what it is, was, and might be like to be a teenager. Each year the Connections Festival commissions 10 new plays for young people to perform from writers with a wide range of experience.
Lucinda Coxon is an English playwright and screenwriter. Her plays include: a version of Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman (Bridge Theatre, London, 2022); Alys, Always, adapted from the novel by Harriet Lane (Bridge Theatre, London, 2019). Her screenplays include The Danish Girl, The Crimson Petal and the White and The Little Stranger.
The play contains references to drugs, sex, violence and adult themes - not recommended for young children (8+).
