Update on College Road Closure

30 Jun 2008

As to the current works on College Road, Phase 1 has now been completed (with the raised platform tables in place at the pedestrian crossing at College Road car park and major parts of same at the Main Entrance), and Phase 2 has started by this morning:

City Council have advised that from 30th June until approx. 18th July (3 weeks), College Road is closed between the Main Entrance and Gaol Walk / Highfield Av (“Clifford’s Shop”).
Access to the Main Entrance is now only possible from the East (coming from Donovan’s Road), same goes for egress.

Again, as there will be two-way traffic on a single lane at the entrance, please take extra care!!

For leaving the Main Campus please also consider the exit to Gaol Walk (by the West Lodge).

In parallel, work has started to install a raised table at the pedestrian crossing outside the Bon Secours Hospital. Subsequently College Road is completely closed for all vehicular traffic at the BonS Hospital.

Access to the Food Science / Pharmacy entrance is maintained from the East.

Access to Brookfield (BHSC) is maintained via Magazine Road and St. Clare’s Avenue.

Pedestrian traffic is not affected by any of the works. Cyclists please dismount when passing the work sites on the footpaths.

Bus Eireann route No5 services continue to operate via Western Road – Victoria Cross – Wilton Road to Model Farm Road in both in- and outbound directions.

Please have a look at the map attached.
