Regeneron College Awards 2024
The Regeneron College Awards 2024 celebrated the achievements of outstanding UCC students at the Regeneron site in Raheen, Limerick. The awards honoured MSc Biotechnology students Stanford Lloyd Fernandez and Anna Carey for their excellent research projects.
MSc Biotechnolgoy students are invited to compete for these awards prior to the start of the college semester. Selected students have to design a project on a topic assigned by Regeneron and present it to a panel of industry experts, followed by a Q&A session where they could network with Regeneron staff.
After evaluating the presentations and discussions, the panel selected the winners. The winning students received a generous bursary to support their studies, a paid internship at Regeneron, and a mentor from Regeneron to guide them in their career development.
Niall O’Leary, Senior Vice President, and Site Lead IOPS Raheen commented:
“Regeneron has a long and fruitful relationship with UCC and UL and these awards demonstrate our commitment to fostering talent and developing future leaders. We applaud all the award recipients; their hard work and skill reflect UCC’s dedication to academic excellence”
The awards showcased the opportunities of a career in Science and STEM at one of the world's most innovative companies. Staff from UCC's School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, attended along with friends and families of the award winners.
