€104 million Investment for Science Research
15 May 2024A €104 million investment in scientific research across Ireland has been announced by Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Patrick O’Donovan TD, and Minister for Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD. The funding is being allocated to four SFI Research Centres: BiOrbic Bioeconomy SFI Research Centre; FutureNeuro SFI Research Centre for Neurological Diseases; I-Form SFI Research Centre for Advanced Manufacturing; and VistaMilk SFI Research Centre.

UCC receives prestigious accreditation for BSc Nutritional Sciences
03 May 2024UCC’s BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Sciences was recently accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN). The accreditation is a significant achievement, allowing graduates to be directly added to the professionally recognised Register of Nutritionists for the UK and Ireland with the title of Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) on graduation.

Data Science & Analytics Student wins UCC Entrepreneurship Award
02 May 2024Gillian O’Donnell, Data Science and Analytics student, won first prize in the UCC Computer Science Entrepreneurship Award 2024 sponsored by AxisBIC for her project entitled ‘Learning to defend against cybersecurity attacks’. The competition, sponsored by AxisBIC (formerly CorkBIC), in its fourth year, was created to encourage entrepreneurial activity amongst final year Computer Science students at UCC.
