Undergraduate College of SEFS Student Transfer Applications
If you are a current student and you feel that your current programme is not the right one for you, the first step is to contact the School or Department of the programme that you'd like to transfer into. You will need to discuss the course content, any pre-requisites, and the compatibility of a transfer application. If you would like to talk about this option informally before approaching your School or Department, please contact Emily Chambers (e.chambers@ucc.ie and sefstlse@ucc.ie), who will be happy to give you some guidance.
A student wishing to transfer between programmes within the College of SEFS must complete the SEFS undergraduate transfer request (Form B).

The deadline for receipt of transfer applications is the last Friday in June every year. Late applications will not be accepted. The criteria for a transfer application are:
- There must be a vacancy in the course into which the student wishes to transfer
- Students must have passed all years in their current degree
- The courses must be compatible in regards to the modules covered between what the student has studied/is studying and what is taught in the programme applied for
- It is highly unlikely that any applicant would be granted transfer entry into the final year of an undergraduate degree
Please note that a transfer is not guaranteed. All transfer applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis. A decision will not be returned until late August, after the Autumn Exam Boards.
