Visit to Chile
Professor Paul Callanan, School of Physics, UCC visited the European Southern Observatories telescopes in Chile last week.
Part of the visit included Cerro Armazones, where ESO is currently building the biggest (optical/IR) telescope in the world, with a mirror almost 40 m in diameter. Facilities at Paranal and the ALMA array were also visited.
