Senior Lecturer in Nursing (Two Posts)

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is located at a purpose built state of the art facility at Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, University College Cork.  It is a constituent School of the College of Medicine and Health along with the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Clinical Therapies.  The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in collaboration with diverse Health Service Providers.   

The holder of this post, will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, hold an administrative role, will play a major part in developing research and will be actively engaged in research activities. Appointees will also spend time in clinical, supporting clinical practice and promoting evidence based practice and research.

Applicants should hold registration as a nurse/,midwife with An Bord Altranais or be eligible for such registration. Academic qualification to PhD level is most desirable and applicants who are close to completing their PhD may be considered. Applicants must demonstrate proven excellence in original research as evidenced by publications and conference presentations. Extensive experience in teaching and clinical practice is a requirement. There is also a requirement to participate in clinical practice, to support students in clinical areas, take administrative responsibility as appropriate, develop and extend an area of research.

Salary scale [new entrants]: €70,035- €99,233 p.a.
