At an exciting event this week at the School of Pharmacy, forty students from Munster secondary schools attended an Open Day on 29th June designed to enhance their understanding of Pharmacy as a discipline, the UCC Pharmacy degree program and career opportunities in Pharmacy.  The purpose of the initiative was to help inform students who may be considering a career in Pharmacy or the Pharmaceutical Sciences.  The focus of the day centred on providing the attendees with an appreciation for the disciplines which underpin the B.Pharm programme and also to explore the many career opportunities open to the graduate pharmacist.

SFI Irish Drug Delivery Network 2nd Annual Conference

The 2nd Annual Research Conference of the SFI-funded Irish Drug Delivery Network (IDDN) Strategic Research Cluster was held at the School of Pharmacy in UCC on June, 17th  2010.

This one day conference brought together leading investigators from the IDDN with invited international speakers on the topic of novel advanced technologies and assessments of drug delivery. The conference attempted to increase the networking capacity of IDDN through co-sponsorship with the UK-Ireland Chapter of the Controlled Release Society (UKICRS) and to provide an annual platform for discussion of drug delivery research in Ireland.
