Mentor Panel

I am a Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology, appointed to Lecturer at UCC in 2011, and to Senior Lecturer through the Academic Promotion Scheme (2019).  I'm the Director or Research for the Clinical Psychology Doctorate, and have served across Research and Innovation, Teaching and Learning, and Research Quality Review committees, and I was the Strategic lead for Research in the School of Applied Psychology for 10 years.  I am currently the Chair for the Clinical Psychology Research Ethics Committee.

Approach as Mentor

My approach to mentoring is led by my values of centering the persons own goals for their work, as well as acknowledging and respecting the various ways each of us approach our work.  I have benefited from working across disciplines, and in groups and Schools where I have learnt the skills to listen carefully, and to consider the types of approach that may be needed to move toward one's own goals. My style is conversational, and I value working in partnership with people to work towards their own career ambitions and work life.
