Roberts on Ukrainian Tensions

Prof Geoff Roberts comments on the Ukrainian situation and speculates on its outcome.

 

As tensions mount in the Crimea region of the Ukraine, Prof Geoff Roberts comments that the most likely outcome to the February riots in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, is a prolonged political instability, economic fluctuations and the intensification of ethno-political divisions that could lead to a split in the country, with the weak rump of western Ukraine allied to the European Union and Western powers, while the south and east aligns with Russia.
