Conferrings 2024
The School of Physics would like to congratulate all our UG and PG students who were conferred in 2024.
Pictured above and below are our Physics UG students from the following programmes:
-BSc (Hons) Astrophysics
-BSc (Hons) Physics and Mathematical Sciences JH
-BSc (Hons) Physics Single Honours
whose conferring ceremony took place on Monday 4th November @ 3.30pm.
-BSc (Hons) Chemical Physics conferring took place on Wednesday 6th Nov @ 10am ceremony.
As well as our undergraduates students, we also had PhD conferrings on Friday 8th Nov @ 10am to which we would like to congratulate:
Hemalatha Muthuganesan and Megan O'Brien - pictured below with their Supervisor Brian Corbett, from Photonics Group in Tyndall. Both were conferred with a PhD.
as well as Ayse Atar (Supervisor Emanuele Pelucchi, also Photonics Group, Tyndall) who conferred as well with a PhD on Fri 8th Nov. Pictured below with Professor Frank Peters of School of Physics UCC/Tyndall.
- Hemalatha's thesis title was: “Photonic circuits by integration of 111-components with silicon waveguides"
- Megan's thesis title was: “Tuneable Lasers”
- Atar's theis title was: "Photonics - inverted laser structures for photonic integration: epitaxy, simulation and design challenges"
You can watch any of these ceremonies back at the following link.
We are very proud of all our students and do wish them well for the very bright futures they have ahead of them!
