Showcase of Refugee and Asylum Initiatives in Cork

On Thursday the 6th of February, UCC will be hosting a showcase of organisations that work with refugees and asylum seekers in the Cork city and county area.  The showcase will be organised BetterTogether in collaboration with UCC University of Sanctuary Working Group and the UCC Fáilte Refugees Society.  BetterTogether is a Cork-based charity working to empower women living in Direct Provision centres in Cork city and county.  The aim of this showcase is to provide an opportunity for students and staff in UCC, as well as the general public, to meet organisations with the view to getting more people volunteering in the area.  Another purpose of this event is to provide a networking opportunity for organisations working in this field in Cork, with the hope of future collaboration between projects.

A list of contributors will be available closer to the date, and BetterTogether will be creating and distributing a directory of services for refugees and asylum seekers.
