Keynote Speakers: Natasha Maimba and Minahil Sarfraz – RTE Leaving Limbo Documentary (Youth Ambassadors for Unicef Ireland)

Natasha Maimba and Minahil Sarfraz have recently featured in a documentary, which was broadcast on RTE, reflecting their lives and friendship in Direct Provision, their experience of the education system in Ireland and their inspirational work as youth ambassadors for Unicef Ireland.
This seminar will also serve as an interactive space linking students from UCC, the Memorial University Newfoundland, Canada and the University of Veracruz (UV), Mexico. The event will involve knowledge sharing of the on-going work within all universities highlighting how universities are promoting the participation of refugees and asylum seekers and excluded indigenous communities in higher education.
This event is a free event but will operate on a first come first serve basis.

The event will also showcase the work undertaken in UCC by Failte Refugees (Guest Speaker: Mair Kelly, Chairperson of Failte Regugee Society, UCC), The Better Together Project (Guest Speaker: Student Vera Stojanovic) Ceangal, formed under the University College Cork, Enactus society (Speaker TBC).
