UCC marks the inaugural Open Book Day

February 22 has been nominated as Open Book Day: Celebrating Refugees in Education by Schools of Sanctuary and UNHCR Ireland.  UCC was delighted to welcome representatives from both organisations ot UCC to mark this occasion.

Open Book Day was celebrated on campus with a variety of events held over two days, including a panel discussion with the UNHCR on the challenges faced by refugees in accessing education, an exploration of the EU-Passworld path to education initiative, and examining the results of research into integration in the school system for refugee children with IMMERSE and Schools of Sanctuary Ireland.
