Hidden History Portraits
For UCC Equality Week 2019, the Glucksman is showcasing portraits by photographer Dara McGrath that were created as part of a project called Hidden Histories.
Hidden Histories was a community art project to mark 100 years of Irish women's right to vote funded by Cork City Council Arts Office.
The project included participative workshops and interviews with senior citizens from Mahon Community Development Project. Working with the group, the artist Dara McGrath created a series of photographic portraits that reflect on the progression of women’s rights and the role of women in shaping Cork city. These portraits celebrate the storyteller as well as the story being told by presenting quotes from each subject alongside their image.
The artworks will be on display in the Glucksman Foyer Exhibition Space from March 5th to March 10th.
Free - all welcome. Organised by The Glucksman
