UCC Graduate Delivering Water Infrastructure to Syrian Refugees in Lebanon

UCC Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering graduate Pat O'Halloran works with Concern International to deliver essential water treatment infrastructure to thousands of displaced Syrian refugees in Northern Lebanon.
The Southern Star newspaper reports that Mr. O'Halloran, who graduated from UCC Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering in 1973, is currently based in Northern Lebanon where he is involved in a number of engineering projects with the Irish NGO Concern International, including a new water well and a 100 cubic metre water tower, linked by a x km pipeline, to deliver reliable and safe drinking water to approximately 3,000 people in the refugee camp. Mr O'Halloran is also working on upgrades to the camp's storm protection infrastructure, in order to protect the camp's tent from the heavy rains sometimes experienced in the region.
