€300m Hospital Construction Project for Cork

Two of Cork's busiest hospitals intend to merge and move to a custom-built, new facility with an estimated cost of €300m.
The South Infirmary Victoria Hospital and the Mercy University Hospital have identified six potential sites for the new consolidated facility, and have submitted the list to the Minister for Health for consideration.
The candidate sites include: St Mary’s Health Campus in Gurranabraher, Sarsfield Court, St Finbarr’s Hospital, Wilton, a greenfield site off the N40 South Ring Road, and a brownfield site in the Tivoli docklands. The new project will create several hundred new jobs in Civil Engineering, construction and project management.
