Empowering Women @ Tyndall

As part of our Empowering Women at Tyndall Programme*, the team in Tyndall are delighted to announce the next Inspiring Leaders Presentations, which will be delivered by Olive Murphy, RF Silicon Evaluation Engineer, Analog Devices.

Olive Murphy is a native of Macroom, Co. Cork and did her leaving Cert in St. Mary’s Secondary School there.  She received her Bachelor of Engineering, Masters of Engineering Science and Ph.D. from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, University College Cork, Ireland, in 1998, 2000 and 2005, respectively.  Her master’s thesis was on the modelling of passives in low temperature co-fired ceramic and her PhD was on the modelling of high frequency multilayer inductors in CMOS.  From 2006 to 2014 she was a Research Fellow in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in Imperial College London, working on the continuous wireless monitoring of deeply implantable pressure sensors.  In 2014 Olive took a role with the Integrated Transceivers Group of Analog Devices in Cork, Ireland where her work concentrates on the characterization of low power transceivers used in  energy metering and IoT.

Olive will speak about her own career journey and the challenges experienced along the way and will offer advice to those who are embarking or continuing on their own journey.  Olive’s  talk will last approximately 20 minutes and afterwards we will open to the floor for a Q&A session.

We invite everyone, staff and students, men and women, to come and hear Olive’s inspiring story on this Thursday, 29th June in the Block A. Large Ground Floor Meeting Room @ 12.00pm.  Please confirm attendance by emailing Eilís Mulcahy (eilis.mulcahy@tyndall.ie).  Biscuits will be provided on the day, so bring along your tea/coffee.

There will also be an attendee spot prize of a €50 One4All voucher.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
