College of SEFS Summer Intern Orientation
What does “doing research” really mean? Summer interns from across the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS) recently came together to find out.
An engaging orientation session led by Dr Hui Wang, SEFS Research Support Officer took place with students and supervisors from SEFS and Tyndall National Institute in attendance.
The event explored:
• What research looks like across different disciplines
• Real student experiences, with inspiring talks from previous summer researchers
• Open Q&A and peer connection opportunities
The session helped students build confidence, and demystified the research journey. It also offered a great opportunity to network and build a sense of community.
The event wrapped up with a lab tour at Tyndall National Institute, followed by an informal social gathering, sparking conversations and new collaborations.
