QS World Subject Rankings 2024

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects at UCC have performed well in the latest world subject rankings produced by higher education analysts, QS.
Agriculture & Forestry has been ranked in the top 100 in the world (79), and this subject area is comprised of disciplines in the School of Food & Nutritional Science and the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) both of which are part of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science.
Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Chemistry, Physics & Astronomy have all improved their subject rankings by 50 places.
This year's rankings included 1,559 institutions from 149 countries. The rankings are based on a combination of different indicators relating to academic and employer reputation, and research.
Professor John O’Halloran, President, UCC said: “We are delighted that the work of our academic, research and teaching staff has been recognised by QS World University Rankings.
The spread of subjects featuring across our colleges is very positive. Our rankings are reflective of our ambition to maintain and improve UCC’s position as one of the world’s best universities “
Professor Sarah Culloty, Head, College of Science, Engineering and Food Science added: “Our international reputation is important to us, and we are very pleased that the research excellence and employability of our graduates in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science is being reflected in the QS subject rankings”.
