About the winning project:
Elvis Seporaitis: ReFrame
This is a student-led research group run by students from the School of Engineering and other Schools. The aim is to research the feasibility of the production of a fully sustainable skateboard made from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, with the ultimate goal being the production of such a skateboard on campus. It is hoped that this will provide the opportunity for students and staff to use a unique form of transport that is fully sustainable and takes plastic waste away from incineration or landfill. The image above shows the team examing the design and experimentation of their own novel skateboard design after 3D printing.
