SEFS Teaching Awards 2019

Dr Jean O'Dwyer and Dr Ed Jarvis picked up SEFS teaching awards recently.
The College of Science, Engineering and Food Science announced the outcome of the ninth annual SEFS student-nominated staff and demonstrator teaching awards earlier this month. The staff winner was Dr Jean O'Dwyer from the School of BEES. Dr Ed Jarvis, also of the School of BEES was one of the runners up this year.
A spokesperson for SEFS said that "all award winners were congratulated on this great achievement in recognition of their hard work and their enormously significant positive contributions which serve to put into action our university mission that places our students as our highest priority”.
The awards have been presented since 2011, and the School of BEES has an excellent track-record in this regard. Prof. Peter Jones won the award in 2010/11; Dr Tom Kelly won in 2011/12; Dr Ed Jarvis won in 2015/16 and Dr Simon Harrison was runner-up in 2016/17.
