SEFS Outstanding Lecturer and Outstanding Postgraduate Demonstrator Teaching Awards 2012
The annual student nominated SEFS Outstanding Lecturer and Outstanding Postgraduate Demonstrator Teaching Awards are championed by the SEFS Teaching and Learning and Student Experience Committee. The objectives of these awards include: identifying, recognising and promoting excellence in teaching and learning across SEFS programmes and facilitating a student voice to highlight and reward excellent lecturers and postgraduate demonstrators. This initiative underlines the importance of teaching and learning as a core function across the College of SEFS. Each year (early March) students are emailed inviting them to submit their nomination(s).
The 2011/12 award winners were: Dr. Tomas Kelly, School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (Outstanding Lecturer) and Colm Coughlan, Department of Physics (Outstanding Postgraduate Demonstrator). to see the previous year's winners.
The runners up for SEFS Student Nominated Lecturer Award were Ms Helen Guiney, School of Mathematical Sciences and Prof Tom Cotter, Department of Biochemistry. The runners up for Student Nominated Postgraduate Demonstrator Award were Eoin Flynn, Department of Chemistry and Kate O'Reilly, Department of Chemistry.
