Use of use HiPERCAM on the Gran Telescopio Canarias
Dr. Mark Kennedy, School of Physics, UCC as a member of the ULTRACAM collaboration led by Professor Vik Dhillon (University of Sheffield) has recently been trained to use HiPERCAM on the Gran Telescopio Canarias.
This is a high time resolution instrument mounted on the largest single aperture optical telescope in the world. This now enables the School of Physics to participate in cutting edge high time resolution astrophysics, studying phenomenon ranging from exoplanets all the way up to Galaxies, and everything in between.
In the picture above, you will see Dr. Kennedy using the profound instrument.
